SIG

Automating high-speed carton production with robotics.

SIG is one of the world's leading suppliers of aseptic carton packaging. Its filling machines run at up to 24,000 carton packs an hour — but keeping them fed with carton sleeves was manual work: operators unloading boxes from pallets, opening them, and loading sleeves by hand.

As global product manager I owned the R-CAM robotic magazine — a fully automated system that takes shipping boxes off the pallet, opens them, and feeds sleeves to the filling machine across six parallel tracks, so a high-speed line runs with a single operator. The first system went live at Arla Foods in 2015.

What I did

  • Owned the R-CAM product end to end as global product manager, from definition to market launch.
  • Extended SIG's magazine-automation family to its highest-speed filling machines.
  • Brought the first system live with launch customer Arla Foods.

Let's build something.
